Using our scales we weighed out the ingredients for gingerbread men. Miss Seal let us smell the cinnamon, ginger and the dark moscovado sugar. We felt the textures of the flour, sugar and syrup. We sieved, mixed and blended.
Next week we are going to roll out our dough ( don’t worry it’s frozen), cut out the shapes, bake the gingerbread and then decorate! Watch out next week for more photos.
As part of our Food for Thought topic P5 visited Malone House. We are learning about how food gets to our table. So we tasted some of the tastier treats that are made from wheat.
We also looked at the changes in the park. We saw the changes in the trees, pine cones and conkers.
The Parliament Buildings Beekeepers came to school and told us all about saving bees and beekeeping.
They showed us their hive, beeswax and best of all their honey. We sold the honey at The McMillan Coffee Morning.
