PE (Primary)


The PE department is staffed by Mrs Paula Vance (PE Co-ordinator) and Mrs Linda Whittington (part-time PE Teacher).

We offer a balanced curriculum via experiences, fun, promotion of independence, choice and participation throughout the Primary and Post Primary school.

The Primary Curriculum includes:

  • Inclusive and Adapted Games
  • Music and Movement
  • Athletics (field and track events)
  • Soft Play/Gymnastics
  • Swimming

The Post Primary Curriculum includes:

  • Inclusive and Adapted Games (e.g. boccia, polybat, football, pool, volleyball, rounders/non-stop cricket, hockey)
  • Athletics (field and track events)
  • Swimming

Throughout their time in school the pupils will have other opportunities to take part in activities within school time faciliatated by outside agencies. Information is also passed on for further participation in sport.

  • Recreational and Adventurous Activities with Belfast Activity Centre
  • Active Communities (tennis and cricket skills)
  • DSNI
  • Belfast City Council - boxing
  • Glenburn Table Tennis Club
  • Castlereagh Borough Council CSAW Project

There are annual Sports Days for the Primary pupils and on alternative years a Post Primary Sports Day is run and the following year the pupils enter competitions.

The swimming pool is staffed by Michele Gorman (Swimming Teacher) and Sports Attendants, Elizabeth Millar and Raymond Johnston.

Here at Fleming Fulton we follow the Amateur Swimming Association National Plan for Teaching Swimming. This provides a smooth progressive structure that can be adapted to suit each individuals capabilities.

The Primary and Post Primary swimmers particiapate in an Annual Swimming Gala.

Our programme aims to provide both physical and mental benefits in a fun environment.
