#30DAYSWILD - Busy Week

Thursday, June 17, 2021 - 14:15

It's been a busy week at Fleming Fulton School, however that's not stopped us from getting #WILD

Leah has been out on her hand bike at Lissan House looking for bees in the wildflowers... I wonder if the bees were attracted to her juice...?

Joanna spent loads of time in her local park collecting feathers, sticks, stones and other items for her nature table, isn't it fantastic...??!!

#30DAYSWILD - A Wild Adventure

Tuesday, June 8, 2021 - 14:00

P5 went on a #30DaysWild Adventure today down past our wildlife pond and river checking to see what wild flowers they could find on the way.

They spotted lots of plants, some greenfly, ladybirds and bumblebees.

I went down later with the 'Picture This' app on my phone to identify some of the plants they found.

I've added a selection of the photos I took showing the plants that were identified.

Mrs Foster has just shared this video with me.  She was enjoying a family BBQ at home over the weekend when her party was gate crashed by a Badger...!!

Yes, you heard right, a BADGER...

Mr Bertie Badger, strolled right up onto her patio in the early evening looking for his share of the burgers...

The excellent weather continues and the school gardens are bursting with new life...

Almost everyone was outside at some time today getting #WILD in our school garden.

P6 went in search of the perfect tree to do some bark rubbings, looks like fun.

Leah was enjoying the blue sky and sun this morning outside her new house as she was waiting for her bus.

Lots going on outside today...

P2/3/4 were enjoying a picnic in the WILD.  They took their snack outside and then took time to stop and listen to the sounds of the WILD and cuddle their teddies.  Later they took their shoes and socks off to feel the WILD between their toes.

Leah & Hannah were out in the Wildlife Garden listening to the WILD.  They heard lots of different birds and the wind blowing through the trees.

It's here, the first day of our #30DAYSWILD Challenge...!!!

Year 13 were feeling WILD in the greenhouse, discovering the feel, smells and tastes of the wild.  We smooshed soil, caressed compost, wiggled our fingers in pond water, got up close with grass and looked longingly at leaves.

No-one was brave enough to take their shoes off, but Katie and Nathan did taste a part of a Nasturtium flower (They didn't like it, too 'spicy..!')
