Learning for Life and Work (LLW) is central in helping young people develop the fundamental skills, knowledge, qualities and dispositions that are pre-requisites for life and work. This area of learning contains the contributory strands of: Citizenship, Employability, Home Economics and Personal Development.
The focus is to develop the pupils as:
a contributor to society; and
a contributor to the economy and environment.
Key Stage 3
Citizenship, Employability and Personal Development are taught at as a rolling programme over the three years.
Home Economics is taught every year as a stand alone subject.
Key Stage 4
Citizenship, Employability and Personal Development are taught and the pupils have an opportunity to work towards an LLW qualification.
Home Economics is a choice subject from Key Stage 4 onwards.
