Science Outreach Resource Centre

This Centre, opened in 2003, offers science resources which may not be readily available to other schools. Participating schools (12 so far) have been able to avail themselves of the fully interactive science laboratory. This has proved to be very successful in enriching science lessons already delivered in their own schools. They also have the opportunity to investigate habitats linked to the school Nature Trail using tablet PC's. The Centre provides a complete teaching package of exciting activities specific to the school grounds. (the school has developed and designed its own interactive CD Rom complete with worksheets)

This facility is available for use by other special needs and mainstream schools.

The Science Department has recently secured funding from the BELB and DENI to establish a new outdoor science resource linked to our Sensory Garden. This is a STEM initiative which is utilized on a regular basis by link schools.
