P6
The pupils in P6 follow the Northern Ireland Revised Curriculum. Everyone works as an individual and daily tasks are differentiated according to personal needs and ability levels. There is a strong emphasis on Literacy, Numeracy and ICT as these areas underpin much of the learning. The pupils also study a number of themes. Current themes include: Ourselves;Life At Home; Cultural Understanding and Ethical Awareness; Healthy Living; Water and Summer.
All of these themes are taught across the Curriculum, connecting a wide range of subject areas and include practical activities and Educational visits.
Throughout their P6 year, pupils are encouraged to work to improve their independence and social skills as a natural part of their personal development.
A comprehensive citizenship and links programme helps the pupils to develop a wider sense of the world and their place in it as citizens of a global village.
