Nursery
Head of Nursery Department, Nursery Two Teacher and Deputy Designated Teacher for Child Protection: Miss Jean McFadden
Nursery One Teacher: Mrs Naomi Bittle
The Nursery Department provides a wide variety of play activities and experiences to pre-school children with a range of physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties.
The therapists, medical and care staff work closely with the teachers to ensure that each child learns through play in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The Department follows the Northern Ireland Curriculum and includes the range of therapies required by each child within the school day.
- There is a maximum of 10 children in each of the two classes.
- They usually come for two years before Primary school.
- This is a time of assessment for each child.
Children are admitted to the Nursery on the recommendation of the Belfast Education & Library Board based on information provided by the child's education board.
Parents and Staff co-operate closely together at all times and jointly decide on the best Primary school placement for each child.
You are welcome to come and visit. This is best done as soon as possible after your child has reached the age of 18 months.
Please contact Miss Jean McFadden, Head of Nursery on 028 90 613877 for further information.
